In the final chapter of Joyce’s Ulysses, Leopold Bloom’s wife Molly is disturbed from sleep by his return to the marital bed. Her thoughts begin to wander. During the course of this famous internal monologue, she remembers her youthful experiences and fantasies, frets about her husband’s health while reminiscing about their first meeting and about when she knew she was in love with him. The episode both begins and ends with "Yes", a word that Joyce described as "the female word"… !
In this highly acclaimed adaptation for theatre, Aedin Moloney and Colum McCann “lift the character from James Joyce’s novel to create a celebration of womanhood for the stage” NYTimes. The wonderful accompanying score was created by Aedin’s late father Paddy Moloney, lead musician of the famous trad group The Chieftains.
