Who In Their Right Mind Would Want To Read Ulysses? (10.00am – 11.00am)

Séamus Cannon has been encouraging readers for over a decade just to tackle Ireland’s least read most popular novel. You’ve possibly tried it a few times and given up in frustration. Well, the good news is that everybody has.

It is not an easy read but while Ulysses has a reputation for being difficult, it rewards persistence and is worth the effort for the lifelong enjoyment it affords. This introduction will guide you towards an enjoyable reading of the book.

Tales From The Tower (12:00pm – 1.00pm)

A conversation with Vivien Igoe and Robert Nicholson, the James Joyce Tower and Museum’s longest serving curators.

In anticipation of their forthcoming book, Vivien and Robert will recall key events beginning with the opening of the Museum in 1962 and the fascinating personalities they have met over their years in the Tower.

Vivien Igoe is the author of The Real People in Joyce’s Ulysses, UCD Press. Robert Nicholson is the Author of The Ulysses Guide, New Island Press.
